Heavy Equipment Welders
About the Role
Operates various hand tools, such as pliers, vice grips, hammers, squares, chisels, and screwdrivers, and power tools,
such as grinders, drills, come-a-longs, saws, hydraulic knock-outs, and hydraulic jacks, to fit filter units. Uses TIG
welding to put together parts of a filter unit. Reads blueprints to know how to fit metal parts together. Measures and
uses math skills to accurately place parts and drill holes. Operates a crane or hand truck to move filter units.
Performs minor maintenance on the welding machines. Performs housekeeping duties in the welding area. Must successfully
pass an AAF TIG Welding test. Must be capable of learning to build any product from a blueprint with minimal assistance.
